Below are just a few more places and groups that can guide you to improve your erotic, sexual, spiritual, and emotional well-being. There are many of us who are also helping people in 12-step recovery. 

PDA encourages you to participate in any that interest you, so that when you come to our Academy weekend, you can put into practice what you have learned elsewhere. Please click on any of the accordion headings below to expand the content of each.

Retreats & Conferences - Sobriety & Recovery

Taking place once every five years, the A.A. International Convention marks the birth of Alcoholics Anonymous in 1935. Here people attend meetings, workshops, and dances. It will take place from July 3 – 6, 2025, in Vancouver, Canada.

Camp Crystal Clear West hosts a 4-day camping weekend in California for Gay, sober males. CCCW is a recovery-based retreat with meetings, workshops, outdoor activities, meals and evening fun and entertainment.

The CMALA Convention is a 3-day celebration of sobriety held every Spring for everyone who desires to lead a life free from addiction to crystal methamphetamine.

The Florida Roundup brings together the LGBTQIA+ Recovery Community by providing events to share our collective Experience, Strength, and Hope.

FDF conference provides a safe and sober environment for gay men in recovery from alcohol and drug addiction to connect and enhance their personal relationship and communication skills.

Sober in the Sun is made up of members from the LGBTQ+ community and produces workshops, sober social gatherings, and an annual four day roundup in Palm Springs for individuals in recovery and their significant others.

Retreats & Conferences - Intimacy, Sex, & Relationships, and Other Resources

Body Electric (BE) offers expertly guided educational experiences grounded in the erotic and its integration with the sacred, to foster transformative personal, relational, and communal healing.

Easton Mountain is a community, retreat center, and sanctuary created by gay men as a gift to the world. Through workshops and programs, they provide opportunities to celebrate, heal, transform, and integrate body, mind, and spirit.

GearUp Weekend is an all-inclusive annual kink retreat where guys can socialize with, learn from, and play with other queer, gay, bi, and trans men of all ages (21+) and backgrounds in a safe and friendly environment.

Based on the workshops developed by Harry Hay, Sex Magick is designed to expand your capacity (predominantly via facilitated Radical Faery type of Heart Circles) for spirit/sex integration.

Sex, Intimacy, Relationship. The SIR Festival is a unique, immersive experience that brings together distinguished facilitators in sex, intimacy, and relationships to create a transformative experience for men who love men. 

Sober Leathermen connects people to sobriety at leather events, including global recovery meetings with a focus for the leather/kink community.

Village.Berlin and the Stretch Festival is a unique gathering exploring bodywork, mindfulness, art, movement, sexuality, psychology, spirituality, gender, identity, ritual, performance, and social engagement.

12 Step Fellowships

AA is a fellowship of people who come together to solve their drinking problem. A.A.’s primary purpose is to help alcoholics to achieve sobriety.

Al‑Anon is a mutual support program for people whose lives have been affected by someone else’s drinking. By sharing common experiences and applying the Al-Anon principles, families and friends of alcoholics can bring positive changes to their individual situations.

CMA is a fellowship of people who share their experience, strength and hope with each other so they may solve their common problem and help others to recover from addiction to crystal meth.

SAA is a fellowship for finding freedom from addictive sexual behavior and helping others recover from sex addiction. Meetings offer an accepting, non-threatening environment to share our struggles and learn how to apply the principles of the 12-Steps to our lives.

 S.L.A.A. is a program for anyone who suffers from an addictive compulsion to engage in or avoid sex, love, or emotional attachment.
