We are currently developing the content of the Academy retreat weekend, so below are some draft ideas to give you a sense of our plan.

Based on the 12-step model of sharing peer experiences, our speakers & facilitators from our men's recovery community will provide support, motivation, & opportunities to practice

• Breaking the association between sex & substances • Attending events where drugs & alcohol are present while still maintaining sobriety • Using 12-step tools in intimate situations

Communication

• Understanding the importance of consent • Setting, maintaining, & respecting boundaries • Learning to speak directly & listen effectively • Asking for what we want & saying what we mean • Learning to be honest with ourselves & others about our desires & motivations

Self-Esteem & Self-Worth

• Liberating ourselves from shame • Handling rejection; take or receive • Evolving our sex & intimate life as we age • Exploring & knowing our own bodies • Healing from trauma • Being authentic in every aspect of our life
